I have a lot to look forward to and be thankful for, all things considered.
As I sit here, ready for my Skype “date” with IntrigueMe (and MAYBE INRIS, but I cannot confirm nor deny if he will, in fact, join our conversation!), I’m just thinking about the next few weeks/months and am recalling where I was, recalling my next few months, just about this time last summer, in the midst of the divorce/house selling details, and wow, I feel so different now than I did then, yet still “me” – if that makes any sense at all.
So, here goes – check it out:
- This weekend: vacation begins!!! Heading to Maine on Friday – Thursday of next week, half of which will be spent with Amy and Eric, and my sister Jess and Scott. It’s promising to be a mind-searingly memorable weekend and it couldnt’t have come at a better time. I can’t wait.
- Weekend of July 31: Cathe Road Trip in New Jersey! My workout weekend commences…with some of those that went last year with me and Jess, and some new faces that I can’t WAIT to meet, including Heather from Where’s the Beach. It’s going to be awesome…7 workouts, 2 1/2 days…here. I. come.
- Week of August 23: ANOTHER week in Maine – will be awesome to have three weeks this summer where I’ve spent a good chunk of time off in Maine. Awesome.
- September 11: My divorce-sary! Wow. Yes. There will be some sort of party…just to celebrate ME. Count on it. And, that is the same weekend that I move to my new unit…so a good time for a re-housewarming, no?
- September 30 – Oct 9: WINE COUNTRY!! My mecca. AND the week of my 31st (gulp. blink. 31. Really?) birthday. Wheee!
I’m excited. I’m trying to drink it all in, enjoy each and every day (work days included…) and be so thankful that my hard work, agony over money (or lack thereof…) is going to – in some cases – some very excellent times in my life that I will never forget. And I can’t wait to share them all with you.
Do you have anything exciting or “you” related planned? Whatever you are doing, or have done, this summer…drink it in. There’s something about summer that’s enchanting and magical. And I love it.

LOVE this. Right there with you – SUPER excited for this weekend but in truth, we have a ton to look forward to in the next few months. Awesome. Really puts it into perspective what we work so hard for at our IRL jobs huh? 😉

Was that not the fastest year ever? Where did it go? May it never come back, and let’s hope the future brings us good fortune and a whole lot of fun! 🙂
July 15, 2010 at 12:09 pm
Um, yeah, it has flown by, hasn’t it? Thank you friend, I wish that for both of us 🙂

i’m not sure when it will all come together, but i am planning/anticipating the party of the century at my house. preferably when my parents come to help move my sister in. see the following equation.
perfect roomate+ the ‘rents+ all of my Asheville friends + lots of booze + good food + my firepit= me probably passing out on my own lawn and having to be carried to bed (preferably by someone worthy of sharing it).
yes. score.
July 15, 2010 at 12:11 pm
that IS the perfect equation!!! too bad we don’t live closer or I’d totally be down for that ;-P

Well, I just got back from a fabulous 2 week vacation with my daughters. Now, my future plans are:
1 – a 2 day trip to Columbus Ohio to take my daughters to see Selena Gomez
2 – my birthday next weekend. A celebration of ME!
3 – as soon as my divorce is final, should be any day now. I just left a message for my lawyer to find out. As soon as the divorce is final I’m going to get cracking on buying that house!
4 – In September I want to take a trip to LA to see 2 friends, if I can swing it with my work schedule.
July 15, 2010 at 3:36 pm
KT that sounds awesome!! All of it – birthdays are ALWAYS fun (I am like a 5 year old, I love my birthday! ha), and the finality of your divorce will feel so great, once you get through it. Yay.

Oh my gosh….what an exciting couple of months you have coming up!! That is wonderful you have so many things to look forward to – I don’t know about you, but that’s what gets me through sometimes. 🙂 Though I really do need to heed your advice…you are SO dead on about summer. I’m afraid I’m going to wake up very soon and it will be over…so I need to enjoy every (really really hot and muggy) second!
July 15, 2010 at 3:37 pm
Yes, I am SO trying to enjoy every minute of summer! absolutely NO other feeling as good as the heat, sun, and smell of summer, ya know? Enjoy every last minute!
